Our Team
Rani Kiren Kaur Gandhi is a qualified lawyer (LLB) with experience across sectors areas—corporate, government, resource, economic development and a practicing tattooist and creative professional.
She combines legal expertise with artistic skill and community advocacy, focusing on mental health support, veteran wellbeing, and accessible education. Through Mind Militia, Rani empowers individuals to navigate complex systems, reclaim agency, and express their stories through both law and art.
Welcome to the Revolution
The Mind Militia exists where systems feel overwhelming and people feel unheard. We operate at the intersection of art, advocacy, and practical support—meeting individuals where they are and walking beside them through terrain that is often deliberately difficult to navigate. At its core, Mind Militia is a service-first organisation. We prioritise clarity over complexity, dignity over bureaucracy, and outcomes over optics. Our work is grounded in lived experience, respect for due process, and a belief that access to support should never depend on confidence, education, or financial position.

What We Can Do
Mind Militia delivers both creative and community-based services designed to restore agency and reduce friction in people’s lives. This includes outreach, advocacy, referral support, creative expression, and structured guidance through systems that are frequently intimidating or inaccessible.
We do not replace professionals or institutions—we complement them. Where we cannot directly assist, we act as a conduit to appropriate services, ensuring people are not left stranded or dismissed at the first barrier.
Legal Services and Court Support
The legal arm of Mind Militia is volunteer-based and free of charge, operating strictly in support of lawful process and procedural fairness.
We provide:
Court and legal process support
Plain-language explanations of rights, obligations, and next steps
Assistance navigating forms, timelines, and service pathways
Advocacy and referral to qualified legal professionals where required
We do not provide legal advice unless appropriately qualified to do so. Instead, we focus on demystifying the system, reducing stress, and helping individuals engage with the process in an informed, respectful, and constructive way.
Our role is stabilising, not adversarial. We support the integrity of the courts by helping people show up prepared, oriented, and capable of participating meaningfully in their own matter.
Workshops and Training
At Mind Militia, our workshops are built for real people navigating real systems—not abstract theory, not motivational noise.
These sessions are practical, grounded, and deliberately accessible. We break down complex topics into plain language, focusing on skills people can actually use: understanding institutional processes, knowing where power sits, recognising rights and responsibilities, building confidence in communication, and learning how to advocate for oneself without escalating risk.
Our training and workshops extend into suicide prevention, emergency first aid, and mental health literacy, built on both evidence and lived experience. Sessions are designed not only to equip individuals with critical skills to respond in crisis, but also to help organisations embed mental health practices into workplace culture. Employers who invest in this understanding see tangible benefits: improved staff retention, higher engagement, reduced absenteeism, and a positive impact on the bottom line. We bridge the gap between compliance and culture, giving businesses tools to support people before crises escalate, while reinforcing ethical, safe, and responsive workplaces.
Workshops may cover:
Navigating legal, administrative, and government systems
Understanding process, paperwork, and timelines
Advocacy skills and structured communication
Emotional regulation and resilience under pressure
Creative and reflective practices as tools for clarity and agency
Delivery is flexible—small groups, one-off sessions, or tailored programs—depending on community need. Some workshops are free, some are low-cost, and others are delivered in partnership with organisations who fund access on behalf of participants.
This is not self-help theatre. It’s capacity-building. The goal is simple: fewer people feeling lost, overwhelmed, or silenced when they engage with systems that affect their lives.
Tattoo and ART
At Mind Militia, tattoo and art services are free of charge for veterans and mental health clients, including cover-ups, restorations, and corrective work. This support includes unlimited design revisions and ongoing touch-ups, recognising that healing, identity, and reclamation are iterative processes, not single transactions. All work is carried out by fully licensed practitioners, in compliance with health regulations, safety standards, and professional practice requirements. We do not rush outcomes, cap care, or compromise safety. We want to ensure that moving forward is possible and we are able to do that with our artists. We also offer fee for service for anyone else and the satisfaction that when you support us you support all the services of The Mind Militia Too. We put 100 percent back into the Mind Militia.
